Roach stood on the cold metal platform and looked around the clearing. A slight fog gathered around his feet as the tension rose. Any minute the gong would sound and the 33 tributes around him would fight to the 'death'.
He took in the dogs he'd seen during training and sized up the competition. Some districts had three dogs instead of two, giving them a advantage, but he would not let that matter.

He felt his hackles raise as the moments dragged on, ready to launch his assault on the arena.
