"You have 2 weeks to present a simple bond and perform basic commands such as sit, lay down and run a simple obstacle course, nothing too hard." Foley finished. "Dismissed."
Foley walked away with Johns hot at his heels. All the handlers walked forward and collected their new dogs from the officers holding them. Blesk, Harrison's dog, took immediate fancy to his new handler and jumped up and barked loudly.
"Hey boy." Harrison greeted his new partner.
I looked down at my dog and she flicked her right ear, not seeming to care if I was there or not. I took the lead from the officer and lead her away to a quiet corner of the dirt training lot. I sat down on the ground and Vortex looked at me.
I offered a loose fist and she sniffed it gingerly. She moved away from my hand and sniffed at my cam's leg. She worked her way from my front to my back to front again, taking the lead with her. I brought the lead over my head as Vortex continued to sniff every inch of me. She stopped at my side and sat, seemingly satisfied with her search.
I smiled and reach slowly out to pet her. She licked my hand as it went past her face and ran down her back. The young Malinois stood and wagged her tail, expectantly.
"Let's see where you are at in training." I said, only loud enough for the dog to hear me.
I stood and told her to sit. Vortex simply looked at me and wagged her tail.
"Ok..." I said. I bent and pushed her bum down to the ground. She turned her head and nipped in warning at my hand.
"Hey!" I said. Vortex snorted. I pulled a face. "We'll have to work on that."
"Trigger!" I turned to see Harrison jogging with Blesk at his side. Harrison's young Malinois trotted happily at his side with a sparkle in his eye and tongue lolling.
"Hey." I responded coolly.
"How's it going?"
"She refuses to sit for me." I laughed.
Harrison laughed. "What? This little thing?" Harrison bent down and tried to pet Vortex. She growled and Blesk flicked his ears back and lowered his head. Harrison withdrew his hand and stood back up.
"She do that to you?" He inquired.
"I can touch her, but it looks like she wants more trust before I can do anything more." I bent and gently petted her shoulder. She took one glance at me and licked my hand before sitting.
"Crazy dog." I whispered. As if she understood, Vortex gave me a look. I sighed.
"Well, if you're not doing anything, you could come to the obstacle course with Blesk and I." Harrison smiled.
"Sure, I think Texy here could use some training."

We soon arrived at the grassy obstacle course where I had seen the black Malinois before. The dog and handler had since retired for the day.
As we approached the course, Vortex's tail started to wag and she pulled slightly at the leash. As we entered the gate, the dogs started to bark.
"I guess they like agility?" Harrison guessed.
We both bent down and unclipped our dogs. Blesk bounced off a couple meters way before springing back towards his handler while Vortex stood at my side.
"I honestly can't decide if this dog is lazy or not." I thought aloud.
Harrison smiled and shook his head. He started to jog and Blesk followed by his side. I decided to walk the perimeter of the fence to warm up a little. Vortex hesitated a little before following. I watched her with my peripheral vision as I started to jog. She kept the pace.
I started a run a bit faster and she quickened to fall in beside me on my left. I went faster. So did she. The far fence was getting closer with every stride. I turned to the right and kept my pace. As if she anticipated it, Vortex caught up and returned to my side. I decided to stop dead and go prone. Tex quickly turned and lay down beside me.
"Now I know why you passed." I huffed.
Harrison had apparently stopped to watch and was sitting on the raised ground above the tunnel. He started to clap.
"She can run!" He called. "But can she jump."
"I don't know, let's find out." I called back.
I stood up and Tex readied herself. I walked towards the closest obstacle which happened to the window jump. I stopped beside it and gestured to it.
"Let's go, Vortex!" I called.
Tex jumped up and launched herself through.
I looked back at Harrison with a look of disbelief, only to find him wearing the same expression.
"You got a weird one." Harrison he said shaking his head.

Why yes! I do realize that there a lot of things wrong with this picture. I hope to fix them a later date.
And I just added the story. I really have to stop uploading THEN doing the story.
That is all.
